Another beleaguered Trip!
Sometimes I get so slammed with running my S & M Empire ( you can figure out if I'm serious with that designation) that posting about my recent adventures gets put on the back burner. I didn't want TOO much more time to pass about my most recent trip, so now is the time to discuss it:
I returned to Los Angeles for the Jan 19th Foot Party. What used to be a fun but grueling trip has now taken on a completely different status in my mind. Instead of viewing LA as a smoggy location that is a pain to drive in, I now think of it as the destination for Heavenly Beds and great breakfasts! This new thought pattern wouldn't be possible without the aid of my dear slave squonk. squonk is something of a misnomer in that he actually ENJOYS driving in LA! Yes, stop choking on your diet Coke and reread that last line: Someone can actually enjoy driving in LA. Trust me, I was dubious about this claim until I was the passenger, but now I know it's the truth. Having someone in the vehicle who is in a perpetual good mood despite grinding traffic makes MY mood light as well. Knowing that our destination was the Bonaventure again didn't hurt either.
As usual, our rooms were delightful and made the pre-party nap all the more easier to sneak in before it was time to head out and show off my feet. This particular Foot Party was a big deal as the Footnight Model of the Year contest was going to be held during the festivities. I figured it was just going to be another interesting part of the evening, until the winners began to be announced. I was completely shocked when I was announced as the First Runner Up. It was quite an honor to be on stage with the other ladies who were voted tops by their respective fans. Thanks to everyone who voted for me and did their part! Of course, congratulations goes out to the Footnight Model of the Year Lelani!
After a long night of foot worship and fun, the Heavenly Bed at the Bonaventure provided a welcome respite. I knew I was going to need a good night's sleep as Friday was going to be all about SHOE SHOPPING!
We started the day off with breakfast at the Raymond House as it was so good during the last trip. On our return drive from Pasadena to Hollywood, a very strange phenomena was noticed by squonk and I: THERE WASN'T ANY SMOG IN LA! I was truly stunned but also grateful that we were blessed with such a beautiful day. Of course we were in good spirits as we swooped down on Tony Shoes on Hollywood Blvd. I am quite familiar with their inventory from their online site I walked out of the store with two OUTSTANDING pairs of shoes that were more comfortable than any other platforms I've ever donned. That's a bold statement coming from a veteran of high heels such as I, but it's completely true. Thanks to squonk for always keeping my comfort in mind.
We returned home on Saturday and life resumed as I know it. I'm looking forward to the next trip with my traveling buddy as we make our way to my favorite spots in the US!

Thank YOU for allowing me to serve you before, during and after this trip. As you well know, there just isn't enough space on blogger.com to contain my full excitement for everything that happened to ME on our trip!
I really can't wait to see you enjoying your comfy new shoes in many an extended session.
Note to self: Make sure to be onstage under the feet of VQ next time instead of the very excited Lelani as I happened to be this time. It was my bittersweet pleasure to provide some cushion as she jumped for joy in her lovely red heels nonetheless. You know where I would rather be...
Looking forward to experiencing many more trips (and whips) with you again soon!
