Folsom Street Fair 2006

So one Sunday I'm in Amsterdam, and then the following Sunday I'm at Folsom St Fair. I was a little fatigued when Fair time came around, but I was still ready for what I've come to expect from that particular event: heat, crowds, fetish chaos, and friends...

One of the reasons I love the location of my studio is that it is so close to EVERYTHING. With all of the traveling of the previous week, I hadn't done an effective job of packing when I left for my studio the night before Folsom. Can you blame me? Thus, the sunglasses and sunscreen were left behind and HAD to be replaced before the start of the Fair. I set out on Sunday morning on a mission and within 45 minutes I had replaced those items, picked up my coffee and finished breakfast. Oh, and this was all within a 5 minute walk of my space.

Folsom is all about leather, and I dressed accordingly. I hadn't taken my custom corset out in public since I received it as a gift last Christmas. I wasn't prepared for the reactions I received! Boys and girls kept stopping me to comment on that particular item. I guess you could say it was a hit :). I marveled at how comfortable it continues to become. For those who are contemplating whether or not to purchase an off the rack or custom corset--dig deep into your wallet and pop for the custom work. You won't EVER regret it. I felt merely so-so about corsets in the past because they were always ALMOST but not quite right. Custom means that it's designed FOR YOU and not for some designation that the manufacturer has come up with to appease the masses.

I did my usual "up and back" walk to view the vendors on each side of the street and then made my way to the Cat Club. I had been offered to spend time in their exclusive upstairs area and I wanted to take advantage of an uncrowded place to rest my leather-clad feet. It didn't hurt that free drinks came with the wrist-band...

All good things must come to an end, and so I made my way out of the Club after seeing some old friends and relaxing for a while. Who should find me as I was leaving but the infamous Evil Pony Girl! She and I had engaged in some hot play the night before at SLICK and it was good to catch up again so soon. We were quickly swamped by photographers so we let them have their way until we decided enough was enough. She is truly an amazing creature and we have some surprises in store for the near future.

My Fair was now complete so I headed back to my studio. It was time to change out of my fetish gear and get ready for dinner with Bart of Syren Productions. We ended the day by commiserating at a great restaurant around the corner. I'm sure the folks in the booth next to us never heard a series of stranger tales considering their was lots of video producer shop talk to be had!

Until next year...
