A Soggy Big Apple
Another trip report is in order! I'm sure my readers wonder why I don't ever post about my sessions and seem to concentrate mostly on my travels. The reason is fairly simple as the excitement I experience in the dungeon can be very difficult to translate effectively into text. I'd rather post about information that most everyone can identify with, and keep the solitary session reviews to a minimum...
NYC was a blast, but I had to work a bit harder at having a great time this trip. Due to the date of the Black and Blue Ball, I wasn't able to visit when I like to, that is the second week in May. Nope, this time I went to the Big Apple from May 31- June 5. This turned out to be one of the WETTEST business trips I've ever taken! I was simply not prepared...
Rain in the Bay Area comes during the winter. It stops by the end of May. Then we have very little precipitation until the end of October. When I saw that the forecast for NYC was for showers--I had no idea they meant full, blown thunder, lightening and sheets of rain! Geez Louise it was wet! Walking on the sidewalk under an umbrella was only a partial solution as the amount of standing water made it hazardous to get anywhere NEAR to the curb. Sorry if I'm sounding like a weather wimp, but this was simply amazing. Of course I didn't pack any appropriate footwear for such rain, but at least open-toed shoes dry quickly!
To counter all of the crappy weather ( did I mention that crushing humidity that went along with it?), the rest of the trip was pretty darned fantastic. I stayed at an apartment instead of a hotel this time around, and squonk and I were very much impressed at our digs. It was a two-story location with full kitchen, bathroom, spiral staircase, and balcony. There was also ample room for me to conduct my foot-related sessions and my clients appreciated the residential feel to the rooms.
I wasn't able to do ANY site seeing this time around as I worked every day doing session after session. However, squonk met my challenge that I didn't think he could obtain tickets to a Broadway show with less than 24 hrs advance notice. He came through in a big way and we attended Spamalot. I am an HUGE fan of the Monty Python troop, but this play took it to the next level. It was like attending the funniest movie you've ever seen, and then add even MORE laughs due to the nature of a live production. Thanks squonk for letting me appreciate entertainment like no other!
The main purpose of my trip was to attend the Black and Blue Ball, so I mustn't forget to comment on THAT occasion. This particular fetish event was going to be even more special to me as I've been wanting to attend something at the former Limelight ever since I heard that the location was in an old church. That fact pushes ALL of my buttons. The new name of the club is Avalon and it didn't fail to impress me. There was plenty of room for EVERYBODY and the stage shows didn't cease to inspire and amaze all in attendance. I was decked out in my new white latex dress, but alas, I don't have any photos of me in it just yet. Most of the photos snapped of me at the event caught my feet as I trampled squonk beneath me.
I also attended the SMACK party the Sat following the Ball. Wow. Why can't SF have an outstanding series of fetish events like NYC? You'd THINK that one of the most concentrated areas of kinky people would be able to muster together to have more than one event a year. Is SF simply too divided amongst it's pervs, or it is merely apathy? Hmmmm, makes you wonder.
I can't wait to return to NYC, so look for information about my trip to happen as November approaches. For all of the latest news about my upcoming travels, join my Yahoo Group :).
